Did you twist your knee and feel a sharp pinch? Is your knee now catching, locking, or painfully swollen? Heal the shock absorbers of your knee with targeted, joint-preserving rehabilitation.
👇 Unlock your knee. Book your assessment below.
Our team will contact you for time slot after your complete booking.
The meniscus is a tough, C-shaped piece of rubbery cartilage that acts as a vital shock absorber between your shinbone and thighbone. A sudden sports twist, a deep squat, or even gradual age-related wear-and-tear can tear this cartilage, causing your knee to lock, click, or swell massively. Our specialized Meniscus Injury Physiotherapy program is designed to restore smooth knee mechanics. Dr. Sahil Mittal uses targeted joint offloading and advanced muscular strengthening to reduce friction on the tear, allowing your knee to move freely and pain-free.
Not all meniscus tears require surgery. Dr. Sahil operates on strict “Red Zone” vs. “White Zone” healing principles. Because tears are usually caused by uncontrolled twisting, he focuses heavily on hip and core stability—training your upper leg to control the rotational forces so the knee cartilage is protected from future damage.
01. Acute Swelling & Locking Management
Using clinical modalities and gentle manual joint glides to safely “unlock” the knee and flush out the deep fluid causing stiffness.
02. Neuromuscular Re-education
When a knee swells, the quadriceps (thigh muscles) automatically “switch off.” We use targeted activation to wake these muscles back up to stabilize the joint.
03. Rotational Stability Training
Rebuilding your ability to pivot, squat, and navigate stairs by strengthening the entire lower chain (glutes, hips, and hamstrings).
Do I definitely need surgery for a torn meniscus?
Not always! Degenerative tears (from aging) often respond beautifully to physiotherapy. However, acute “bucket-handle” tears that permanently lock the knee may require surgery. We will perform clinical tests and advise you honestly.
Is it safe to walk on a torn meniscus?
Yes, but with modifications. Walking with a painful limp alters your body mechanics and will eventually cause hip and back pain. We may recommend a temporary knee sleeve or crutches until your muscles are strong enough to support your weight.
